Migration Flow
A practical migration plan from Zoho Campaigns to Bento
This guide follows a simple sequence: export cleanly, map data correctly, then validate before cutover. No generic product pitch, just the steps your team needs.
Stage 1
Export checklist
- 1Clean up your Zoho Campaigns lists
In Zoho Campaigns, archive or delete outdated lists and contacts so you only migrate engaged subscribers.
- 2Export contacts and lists from Zoho Campaigns
Go to the Contacts area, choose the mailing list or segment you want to move, use the export option, and download the CSV file including all important fields.
- 3Export tags and custom fields
Repeat the export for other important audiences and double check that tag and custom field values are present as columns in your CSV files.
- 4Gather templates and content from Zoho Campaigns
Open each email template you want to keep, copy the HTML or save it, and note which campaigns and automations use that design.
- 5Export key campaign reports for reference
Download reports for important campaigns, including open and click performance, so you have benchmarks after you move to Bento.
Stage 2
Data portability map
Know in advance what imports directly and what may require a rebuild.
Stage 3
Validate and cut over
Treat cutover like launch QA. Validate your highest-risk paths first, then move sending traffic.
Switching from Zoho Campaigns can be done in one focused session
We help you map lists, rebuild key automations, and validate deliverability before cutover so your first week on Bento is smooth.
Operator Notes
Zoho Campaigns to Bento language map
Keep this open while rebuilding flows. It maps terminology and highlights what to do first during migration QA.
- Mailing ListsLists and segments
Zoho Campaigns groups contacts into mailing lists, while Bento prefers a single contact store with segments built from properties and behavior.
- SegmentsSegments
Both tools let you create dynamic groups of contacts based on filters, though Bento leans heavily on real time behavioral data.
- Autoresponders and WorkflowsAutomations
Zoho Campaigns uses autoresponders and workflows, while Bento calls them automations and focuses on timelines built from events.
- Email TemplatesLayouts and templates
In Zoho Campaigns you build templates in a gallery, while in Bento you create layouts and templates tied closely to journeys and campaigns.
- Signup FormsForms and capture widgets
Both platforms provide hosted and embedded forms that feed contacts directly into lists and segments.
- Topics or Interest GroupsTags and segments
Zoho Campaigns can use topics or lists for preferences, while Bento relies on tags and segments to model interests.
Tips
- Start by migrating your most important welcome, onboarding, and revenue focused flows instead of every single legacy automation.
- Use Bento tags and segments to replace multiple overlapping Zoho lists so you have a cleaner structure.
- Warm up new sending domains and IPs gradually using Bento batching and pausing controls, especially for large lists.
- Validate emails with Bento validation during import to reduce bounces and improve inbox placement.
- Keep Zoho Campaigns active for a short overlap period until you see Bento sending and reporting working as expected.
Watchouts
- Automations and autoresponders from Zoho Campaigns will not transfer automatically, so plan time to rebuild and improve key journeys in Bento.
- Detailed email engagement history such as past opens and clicks usually cannot be imported, so export reports for your own records before cancelling Zoho.
- If you rely heavily on deep Zoho CRM objects, map the minimum data you need into Bento and keep the rest synced through API or integration tools.
