Migration Flow

A practical migration plan from Vero to Bento

This guide follows a simple sequence: export cleanly, map data correctly, then validate before cutover. No generic product pitch, just the steps your team needs.

1Export from Vero
2Transfer and map in Bento
3Validate and launch

Stage 1

Export checklist

  1. 1Review your Vero projects and messaging setup

Log in to Vero and list the projects, newsletters, journeys, and transactional messages you are currently using.

  2. 2Export people and segments from Vero

From the People or Segments view in Vero, export your main audiences as CSV files including all profile properties.

  3. 3Export custom fields and traits

Review the attributes attached to your users in Vero and make sure they are included as columns in your CSV exports so they can become fields in Bento.

  4. 4Copy email templates and layouts

Open each important campaign, newsletter, or journey email in Vero and copy the HTML or drag-and-drop content into local files.

  5. 5Document workflows, triggers, and timing

For each Vero journey or workflow, write down the entry conditions, filters, emails, and delays that make up the flow.

Validate and cut over

Treat cutover like launch QA. Validate your highest-risk paths first, then move sending traffic.

Send a seed-list test from Bento and verify rendering, links, and tracking.
Compare list and segment counts against Vero before your first live send.
Rebuild high-value automations first, then test each trigger path before cutover.
Keep Vero running for a short overlap while you monitor deliverability in Bento.

Tips

  • Mirror your important Vero segments with Bento tags or segments before you start sending.
  • Rebuild your highest-impact journeys first, like onboarding and trial nurture, before migrating edge-case flows.
  • Use Bento's batched sending and pause controls while you validate events and templates against your Vero metrics.
  • Lean on Bento's team, live chat, and community to sanity check your migration plan.

Watchouts

  • Journeys and workflows do not export from Vero, so you will need to rebuild automation logic manually in Bento.
  • If you used Vero Connect with a separate ESP, remember to update DNS records, webhooks, and API keys when you move sending to Bento.
  • Historical engagement data from Vero will not automatically appear in Bento dashboards unless you import it separately as events.
