Before you cancel VerticalResponse

Export lists, unsubscribes, and bounces in separate files so it is easy to keep suppression data correct in Bento.
Use Bento's free email validation on import to remove invalid addresses and protect deliverability.
Rebuild your most important welcome and nurture sequences first, then migrate less critical newsletters.
Run VerticalResponse and Bento in parallel for one or two campaigns until you are confident everything is flowing correctly.

Automations and scheduled campaigns do not migrate automatically and need to be recreated in Bento.
Email engagement history stays in VerticalResponse and will not appear in Bento reports.
If you forget to import your unsubscribes and bounces you risk emailing people who opted out, which can hurt deliverability.

Questions about leaving VerticalResponse.

Do I need to keep my VerticalResponse account active while I migrate?

Most teams keep VerticalResponse active until they have imported contacts, rebuilt key automations, and sent a few campaigns from Bento. Once you are confident everything works you can safely close the old account.

Will my existing templates move over automatically?

Templates do not import directly. You can copy the HTML from your favorite VerticalResponse emails into Bento or rebuild them with Bento's drag and drop editor.

What happens to my unsubscribes and bounces when I switch?

Export unsubscribed and bounced addresses from VerticalResponse and import them into Bento as a suppression list. That way Bento knows who not to email from your first send.

Will there be downtime?

No. Keep VerticalResponse running while you import, test, authenticate your sending domain, and warm up. Once Bento is ready, move your sending and phase out VerticalResponse.
