Transfer a Site
Use this when a Site needs to move from one Bento Team to another, for example when an agency hands a client account over or a business reorganizes its Bento workspace.
Disconnect and reconnect your Stripe and Shopify integrations before moving the Site. This keeps the integration authorization tied to the right Team after the transfer.
Before you start
Check these items first:
- Make sure you can access both the current Team and the destination Team.
- If you use the Bento API, make sure the user whose API keys you are using belongs to the destination Team.
- Review any production integrations that send data to the Site, especially custom API jobs, Stripe, and Shopify.
If an API key belongs to a user who is not in the destination Team, requests that depend on that key may stop working after the transfer.
Transfer the Site
- Open app.bentonow.com/account/teams.
- Find the Team that currently owns the Site.
- Click the three dots in the Team header.
- Choose Transfer Team.
- Select the destination Team.
- Click Transfer.
After the transfer
Confirm the move before you consider the work done:
- Open the destination Team and check that the Site appears there.
- Test any API jobs or app integrations that write events, subscribers, or tags to Bento.
- Confirm Stripe and Shopify still show as connected before you resume ecommerce traffic.
- Send a small test event or email so you know the Site is receiving data in the new Team.
